“More than the shape of the animal itself, the concept of the illustration started from two characteristics that most wild animals share: camouflage and
monochromevision. These characteristics live from each other, as the monochromatic vision allows a better camouflage of an animal in the vegetation, in the eyes of a possible predator or prey. When considering a visual element (in this case
monochrome) we are in a fluid cut garment, it will always be camouflaged in ripples of the fabric. It was under this idea that we developed the illustration of a tiger. Considering the concept of camouflage, we explored the texture of the tiger in interaction with organic elements (that refer to nature) that is highlighted with the fluidity of the fabric itself. Basically, the idea is to create a visual reference that makes it obvious the existence of a tiger pattern (in this specific case), and less obvious the form of the animal itself.”
